  About System Reset

In the early 1980's I formed System Reset as a way to gain programming experience. I was eleven years old at that time. I developed custom applications for a small company in East Aurora, New York, where my father worked.

My first commercial application was written in 6502 machine language. Its purpose was to read numerical data from a paper tape reader connected to an Apple IIe, and used the data to plot NC instructions graphically. Unfortunately, we did not have an Apple computer at home - the only computer we had available was an Atari 400. I had to simulate the Apple by PEEKing and POKing the machine langauge instructions from a BASIC program.

Where did the name "System Reset" come from?

Now, those of you who remember the Atari 400 know that it did not come with a traditional keyboard. It had a touch pad, which was unforgiving to lazy typing skills. One key in particular was instumental to the kind of programming I was doing. The "System Reset" key, the equivalent to the Control-Alt-Delete on today's IBM compatibles.

The company today

The business survived until my interest faded, and then ceased to exist. I went on to study Computer Science at Rochester Institute of Technology, and then into a successful career as a software engineer. In late 1998 I began using my Visual Basic skills to develop applications at home, and finally in early 2000 I re-established System Reset as a going concern.

Our "Mission"

Many companies have a need for small, custom applications but lack the time or the internal expertise to bring them to fruition. We cater to those companies, providing cost-effective services that only a company like ours can.
